Completely covered
Jun 2019 • Couples
During our visit in June 2019 the Porta Nuova was completely under wraps as it was undergoing renovations.
The wrap does show some detail of the gate underneath but mostly it is adverts.
A pity but gives an excuse to return to Verona one day.

Under renovation
Apr 2019 • Solo
Unfortunately under renovation so I could not see much. Most of it is covered and not accessible. Hopefully next time I visit it will be back to its former glory

Impressive gate
Apr 2018 • Family
this is quite an impressive gate, although you cannot visit it. If you walk from the railway station into verona, which is not far, you will pass by this.

Very good
Oct 2017 • Friends
I believe this was the original gate into Verona. No matter, it is a very pretty gate and one that is worth several photos. A nice sight of the city.

Entry point

This magnificant gateway was part of the outter city walls from middle ages. Very thick and dominant-looking structure.
Nowdays near the autostrada and you get to go through it on your way to the inner city.

Amazing original gate to Verona
Oct 2017 • Couples
This beautiful gate used to be the entrance to Verona. Now it’s near the autostrade and still lovely to see

The gate to verona
Sep 2017 • Couples
Well, it is an original gateway to the city of Verona. It stands in the middle of a roundabout and is inaccessible. Looks good and of great architectural value. No more to add.

The original "gate" to Verona
Jul 2015 • Couples
This is the Monumental door to Verona erected between 1532 and 1540 by Michele Sanmicheli which was to be the center of the city's fortification. It lays to the south end of Corso Porta Nuova which leads to the Arena Piazzabra where the renowned Roman Amphitheater is sited. Worth spending a little time in passing.
