To not visit this church while in Verona means you have wasted your time. It is so special, the lower church will move you, a super special place to anyone, and I am not religious, it is that good.

Both the exterior and interior of the church of San Fermo are presently under renovation so the scaffolds obstruct the full view of the nave. Yet some individual frescoes are in good condition and retain their bright colors despite being originally executed in the 14th...More

What impressed me the most was the lower Romanesque church with beautiful frescos from the 11th century. Great to see the 2 architectural styles in one church, and again another beautiful ship's keel roof ceiling (on top of the one to see in San Zeno...More

We purchased a ticket which gained you entrance into 4 churches. Perhaps because we visited this one last, but if you can only visit a couple make sure you go to the Duomo and Anastasia. Right now the main church here is under renovation.

My favorite church in Verona. It would be worth the visit just for the frescoes in the upper church. When you descend into the older church it's amazing and more older frescoes. We spent ages wandering around in here.
