It's no wonder that this is one of the most historic and picturesque squares in Italy: in antiquity, it served as a Roman forum; today, it contains many historic buildings, sculptures with a popular and colorful market overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables.

Sit down in one of the many restaurants and bars overlooking the Piazza and just watch the world go by with a cold drink in hand a wonderful way to spend an afternoon

Best piazza scene in Italia. Good mix of locals and tourists, but mostly locals. Warm and welcoming, decent tourist market stalls during the day, but not intrusive. Excellent history as well. Our apt was 2 blocks away. Perfect for grabbing a caffe.

It's okay, but if we hadn't been staying right next door to it, I wouldn't make a special trip. Lots of souvenir stands and restaurants.

We came for the historical value and were awed by this great square. There's so much to see we just stood in wonder. Ignore the shops and see the architecture, sculptures and fountains. A fountain that's been running for several thousand years, awesome! Must see.

The piazza is full of stands that sell souveniers, food etc. We decided to have lunch in one of the restaurants here, in Osteria della Erbe, the food wasn't that good, the pasta was quite overcooked & the price was quite expensive. Piazza delle Erbe...More

Piazza delle Erbe is a characteristic nice square with around some monuments (I suggest Lamberti Tower, you can go up and admire a fantastic view of Verona). The square itself has some interesting landmarks like the fountain and the capitello and it is always full...More

What a charming piazza. The frescos on the buildings were stunning. Hard to believe they have been there so long

As a public square it's always open. Because vacation, I expect more tourists and for this reason I believe bars and restaurants would be open. Probably museums but it's better to check on Verona website
