Lido is a great island, the volume of people is small and the island has a flair all to itself. 30 min by boat and worth the trip.

A beautifully presented island with much to enjoy about the facilities and their presentation. The landscaping of the main Corso is excellent. Neither the free beach nor the private ones seems attractive

The description of Lido did not prepare us adequately for our day trip. We walked around the area north of the water transport terminus, then caught the local bus to Pallestrina, little realising just how long the journey would be. Half way along we were surprised that the bus drove onto a ferry before continuing along an ever narrower strip... More

Caught the bus up to north end of Lido & got off at San Nicolo, not realising that the bus continued south for a short period & then to the east side beaches. All the beaches were covered in line after line of beach huts/tents, & appeared to be private access. Back to the centre by ferry pier, saw a... More

A lovely place to see. Very clean. July is hot. The beach was great. Kids enjoyed swimming. Not public toilet at beach.

While a visit to Venice doesn't conjure up images of vast empty beaches, that's what we got on an Easter trip when we visited the Lido to get away from the crowds for a while. Easily accessed on the Vaparetto, there are plenty of cafes and a slice of more normal everyday life to be be found, including cars. The... More

We stayed at San Marco and got the vaporetto over to the Lido - for us we found it disappointing. It was too built up and seeing cars and buses seemed strange we much preferred being at San Marco with no transport other than boats. and walking everywhere. We didn't stay long and got the vaporetto back!

During your visit to Venice, make sure to take a boat tour to the neighboring islands, as we did with Murano, Burano and Lido. Lido is the place where most stars stay during the Venetian film festival and it's known for that. Lots of great restaurants and bars and of course, you can take a cab anywhere you want, as... More

We took the Vaporetto here from St Marks Square. Great views from the Water-bus across the lagoon. When in Lido we enjoyed a nice lunch in one of the many resturants along the walkway.
