This small island is a bit off the usual Venetian path, but it’s worth seeing. Its Santa Maria Assunta church houses impressive mosaics, its bell tower offers great surrounding views—and it’s home to Locanda Cipriani, a well-regarded restaurant and hotel that played host to writing legend Ernest Hemingway .

We enjoyed it but were anxious to go on to Murano and Burano. We walked around and enjoyed the scenery however t here were a lot of people due to a couple of tour buses so we decided not to stay for lunch.

We enjoyed spending a few hours on this island on our honeymoon in Venice. It's a good way to spend 1-2 hours to escape the business of the city and easy to get to on the vaparetto. There's a nice gentle walk to the beautiful...More

This place is off the beaten path. You can take a municipal boat here, but the schedule is very limited. There is one hotel and restaurant, and you might find the museum and tower open, or maybe not. It’s a a good place to walk...More

Ok it takes an hour and a half to arrive from Venice, disembark in Burano and take the other boat to Torcello. But what a calm! It is true that we were there on a winter morning with a beautiful sunshine and it is a...More

Worth a trip to get away from the bustle of Venice. Bus and tourist bus routes take you there. A fair bit of walking involved.

If you have the time check this beautiful island out. So peaceful to stroll along the canal and explore the church and tower, We felt like we stepped back in time. Just a short board ride from Burano.

We went out to the island to visit the historic church and bell tower. The church was impressive and interesting. The climb up the bell tower was definitely worth it. We also enjoyed the small but well labelled and maintained museum. The only complaint was...More

This small island is very different from Murano and Burano. It is really small, less colourful, but more relaxing. It is beautiful, but in a different way. I really liked it. We did not visit the cathedral, but climbed up the campanile. We particularly liked...More
