This small island is a bit off the usual Venetian path, but it’s worth seeing. Its Santa Maria Assunta church houses impressive mosaics, its bell tower offers great surrounding views—and it’s home to Locanda Cipriani, a well-regarded restaurant and hotel that played host to writing legend Ernest Hemingway .

Venice is obviously a unique experience, but Torcello is a totally different change of pace from that crowded island. For those needing a dose of greenery, Torcello is the place. It is a small island and not a real tourist trap. It has plenty of...More

Good places but the Escorted visit was unnecessary. Better to just go by the water taxi. You will enjoy it more. This was just a shepparding exercise by the group organisers

Went here for a look around when visiting Venice recently. We went by water taxi which was very easy. We had a look in the church which was good and gives you a great view.

Headed here after visiting Burano. Great place, once a bustling island with lots of churches but now only home to 14 people & 1 church after a malaria epidemic wiped out the population years ago. We got bitten rather a lot by mosquitoes so take...More

A most historical place. The church and campanile are magnificent. Fabulous art in the church and it is really easy to climb to the top of the campanile as it’s a gentle sloping path. Well worth it for the view over the Venice lagoon, spectacular....More

We took a tour of Torcello, Murano and Burano. We didn't have enough time at each place so I recommend maybe going on your own by public transportation or by water taxi. There didn't seem to be much to do in Torcello. In Murano we...More

Water bus number 12 usually runs from Fodemante Nove (Venice) to burano murano and torcello, each island is worth visiting.
