San Giorgio Maggiore is one of the many architectural masterpieces that Venice justly boasts. I highly recommend not to miss it in your visit to this unique city. The main façace is monumental and a bit austere, in a classical style. The vast interior is...More

The bell tower has fabulous views across Venice and there's a lift so you don't have to walk up hundreds of stairs! Was a little busy when we went but still worth it for the views.

It costs money for the water bus but if you get a day pass and do a few of the islands it's worth it. Only €6 or €4 for students and great views with way less people and there's no wiring so you can sit...More

Best view from on high in Venice. There is no queue to go up the tower and its cheaper than the tower in San Marco.

Main building is free, but you can pay to take elevator up in the campanile. However, we happened to visit on a Wed when the various art exhibits were closed, so we didn't have access to as much of the grounds as we hoped. For...More

Do not miss San Giorgio. The church design is by Palladio and we loved the harmony of the lines. Make sure you go up on the Campanile (it has an elevator) best views of venice and the lagoon

We always buy a vaporetto ticket for the week we are staying in Venice so I am not sure about the ruling on two separate trips. I my view it is probably just as cheap to buy a day ticket and you would be able to hop on and... More

Yet I invite you to consider that also the bell tower is sacred and integrant part of the church.
