You must visit this beautiful place. It is a hidden gem. I can stay here for hours, especially in the garden where you can climb the stairs made of books. Keep in mind it’s not your typical Barneys or Carturesti (Romania), it’s a secondhand book...More

We visited here on a rainy day in December. This is the cutest bookstore I’ve ever visited. The rows and rows of books of all types, languages and sizes are just amazing. Not a great place to search for a specific book, but wonderful to...More

The acqua alta doesn't phase Venetians - it has become part of their culture. This bookstore is case in point - when the flooding happens, the books are secured in tubs and even a gondola floating inside. The book selections are superb, and its a...More

A fantastic book store with books in multiple languages all safe from the high water. Books in boats and Gondolas and cats wandering around. A must stop in Venice.

This place was a little hard to find, but it's Venice and it's not like directions or a map really help. I had a map and knew the general direction it was in and happened to stumble upon it. It's a bookstore crammed full with...More

There are 2 things to do here, come see the kitties and climb the stairs made out of books. All of the merchandise are kept in bathtubs, boats, and milk crates in case it floods, but this is already a TINY space, crowded with 50...More

Would have happily spent an age browsing through the stacks but parties of tourists were there simply to take selfies or group photos which ruined the experience a bit as there’s very little room to maneuver. Worth going if only to meet the gorgeous sociable...More

We came across this bookstore by chance and is packed full of books as well as tourists making it difficult to view any of the books without being jostled. A very interesting ladder of books at the rear of the shop that enables you to...More

Packed full of books, for sure. Take a photo op on the stack of books behind the shop, choose some of the wide selection of postcards. Probably not a place for serious collectors as many of the books are suffering from wear and tear (as...More

A real must see - more books than you can imagine - it is a great place to find old post cards and. strike a pose on the wall of books or sit in the chair on the canal.

Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri
(districts), and the only one not facing onto the
Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated
within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over
one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime
neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side
streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals
criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a

Whenever I have been there during the day it has been open, so 09.00 (maybe 10.00) to 18.00 is usual. Even Sunday I think. Regards
