About
This landmark bar in Venice has been around since the 1930s and has seen the likes of celebrities such Ernst Hemingway and Charlie Chaplin. It's known as the birthplace of the Bellini cocktail, so don't miss the chance to try it out, along with their famous carparccio. The dry martini is also a favorite. With its storied history, it's a good idea to have a chat with the friendly bartenders to learn more.
For dinner, try some delicious Venetian specialties like the creamed cod. This spot can get pretty crowded, so it’s best to get there early. – Tripadvisor

The area

Neighbourhood: San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

Original Bellini experience, 22 euros each, small bar area , delicious drink but a small serving compared to other bars .
The food looked amazing , although we didn’t eat here .
A larger dining room with better views was upstairs .

It was an ok experience, very busy and put and the end of a packed bar. Very over hyped. Wouldn’t recommend and no atmosphere

Don't believe the hype. The famous "Bellini" was quite tasteless for a drink, more like a lemonade. The place was full with loud elderly white people. Don't waste your time and money here, you are in Venedig, there are a lot of better places to be.

I don’t often write Trip Advisor reviews but felt this one was necessary. This bar is terrible and it’s so sad that I have to say so. The Bellini they are so famous for might as well have come out of a slushy machine. There is no intimacy, no amazing mixology, poor lighting, limited and very basic liquors available. The peach mix is a thick almost tasteless pre-mix they squirt into basic crappy champagne flutes without stems, the bubbly is a non descriptive no name sparkling wine. There is no ceremony no personalization. Their famous Bellini is 22 Euros, served at room temperature and super disappointing.

Don’t waste you time, much better elsewhere. Rude staff and crazy prices. Dirty tables, service very poor and the attitude not good. Much better to save your money and go to much nicer places elsewhere.

We went as we told it's a must to go to Harry's for Bellini. It was a very underwhelming experience. Paid through the roof for tiny drinks. My husband had a different cocktail to a Bellini and it was little more than a shot of gin for €25. The Bellini's are €22.

Awful!! Tourist trap. Expensive drinks and incredibly rude staff. First, two Bellinis cost 44 euros. I asked my husband to look at the check b/ I didn’t think it was correct. Then, we were laughing, having a good time, and the bar tender shushed us. He did this two more times when I was apparently laughing too loudly. Never go to this place.

A totally terrible experience what the hell is this place doing even open. Its disgusting filthy bar with absolutely no atmosphere is totally not worthy of any visit. We sat at the bar totally ignored for 15mins I watched as drinks were thorn in a glass with no finesse at all. Tumblers of uneducated and awfully presented drinks were given to those around us whilst we were ignored. We up and left and as we did so I realised what had happened. The bar man had friends waiting at the door who jumped in our seats as soon as we stood. What an awful experience but the most rude Italians I have been met. I am actually so glad as I’m pretty sure those drinks were definitely not going to be worth the prices. Please avoid. I post very little on here and mostly only positive reviews as you will see but I just couldn’t let this one go. Please there are
So many better places than this it should be closed down.

Average at best. I don’t see the appeasement at all. You can buy the Bellini cocktail anywhere in Venice at a fraction of the cost for a start. Considering this is the birthplace of the supposed cocktail I felt no connection with that. Even the presentation of the drink sucked.
The bar is cramped with no atmosphere and €22 a shot. Unless you’re bored of money I would not recommend.

Best Bellinis in Venice are at Osteria Banderia.
Which is in Campo Bandiera e Moro o de la Bragora.
A lovely little square, just off the main drag.
Vivaldi was christened in the church in the campo.
Be aware......the bells are rung on most days, to wake you up.
Not a problem for me, I find it quite refreshing.

Joe, you are so right.

I was turned away and I was wearing nice short pants (it was a warm August day), a nice polo shirt and docksider shoes.
It was our only unpleasant experience while visiting Italy.
But no argument from us. We turned around without giving the guy any lip and spent our euros elsewhere and laughed at the experience. Such is life. Go with the Flow.

Q. What has changed since?

It is outrageously priced and, unless you are happy to pay €21 for a Bellini it really is not worth going into. Venice has lots more decent bars and restaurants than it did 15 years ago so simply take your custom elsewhere. I have been going to Venice for 35 years and would not dream of going for a drink at Harry's anymore.
