This basilica is usually just called “Frari”. It is a gothic church built of brick and is noteworthy as the burial place of Titian (don’t miss the monuments to Titian and to Canova). There are many beautiful works of art, including two by Titian. The...More

Basilica Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari is quite a stunning building. It is lovely on the outside and once inside you can appreciate the spectacular "scenery" and the stunning paintings. It's really well worth a visit.

Do visit. Wonderful Tintoretto and Bellini, plus the final resting place of Canova and Titian. The church is only open 1000 - 1200 noon, and 1600 - 1800 hours. Allow time to sit and absorb these masterpieces. Priceless.

The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the
Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six

markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops
display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San
Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi)
stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San

With your back to Canal Grande, reach Campo San Toma. From there follow red signs for Scuola Grande S. Rocco, and you'll get there in 2 minutes tops (San Rocco is a square behind Frari). Doesn't really matter, which bystreet... More
