This delightful gallery is situated on the Guidecca right at the Palanca vap stop. Sells a range of artworks from postcards, through well executed pencil, ink, and water colour views of Venice, to oil paintings all of a very high standard. Thoroughly recommend a visit. Very friendly and helpful people.

In Giudecca, in front of Palanca stop, there is this nice gallery in which we found a very good choice of beautiful paintings at fair prices.

While idling around Palanca, on Giudecca (where this gallery is housed), my husband was drawn to a couple of oil paintings displayed in the window and we both visited when it was open the next day. We bought the painting in the window, plus a drawing by the artists brother and a few post cards. There were also some excellent... More

The studio sells a range of colour and black and white sketches of Venice, as well as other items. The works were high quality, each one individual and reasonably priced. It's worth taking the Vaporetto to Guidecca to purchase some art. On our visit, the artist was present and was happy to chat about his work. This studio is a... More

Staying in Giudecca

Neighbourhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
