Padua is a nice walkable compact city. There is a tram that cost 1,50 euro from the train station and you only walk a block after getting off the tram to the historical city center. Visiting Padua is doable in 1 day.. I however would...More

The Palazzo della Regione is in the heart of Padua, with a square either side - Piazza dlle Erbe and Piazza della frutta. Plenty of cafes around. Churches, palazzi, everything.. It fully occupied us for two and a half days.

Visiting Padua is not a fast see and go day. This north eastern city has so many attractions that at least one full day or more are required just to visit downtown. See Scrovegni Chapel (Cappella degli Scrovegni), with its priceless frescoes by Giotto. The...More

Padua was one of the most prosperous Roman cities during 1C BC. The University of Padua founded in early XII century, second oldest in Italy after Bologna. In Padua you can see art works of Giotto, Donatello, Mantegna, etc.

Charming historical centre. Authentically Italian without the masses of tourists found in Venice and Verona. Plenty of bars to sit outside in the warm evening weather surrounded by glorious Venetian architecture and locals enjoying themselves

Padua has a lot to offer in the old centre , churches, wonderful architecture and squares. Even although we visited in mid-August it was relatively quiet and not crowed with tourists which made a nice break from the more popular tourist towns.

We had an overnight stop in Padua and was hugely impressed. Stunning architecture around every corner, good shopping and lost of restaurants to choose from. Was there early August and couldn't believe the lack of fellow tourists, took loads of photos and looking back at...More
