When working in Italy we visited Padua for the first time so I took the trusty hop on hop off bus tour to get an overall view of the lovely ancient (and modern) city. Great fun. It was a cold, blustery day that kicked up golden autumn leaves as I rode all around by myself (I was the only passenger... More

toursbylocals.com is the way to go. Our guide in Padua was Ruben. He was excellent. You can ask for him specifically when you go top Padua on the toursbylocals.com website.

My wife and I spent five hours in Padua, Italy covering most of the main attractions. The hop on/off bus was OK at 8.50 Euro each but basically circled the attractions with us having no real need to get off as we felt we could walk to most places again. The Saturday market was taking place when we visited. If... More

What a great little city to explore on foot. The largest square in Europe, famous Basilique, pasta and little wine bars galore. Only problem was the heat. Temps in the high 90's, do your tour in the evening !!

A nice city, a bit calm and quiet, you can enjoy a walk all around the area. Visit Saint Anotnio Basilica is a good option while there.

We arrived for an overnight and we felt very welcome crom thw minute we arrived. First the hotel owners helped us with some pointers, than the bus driver who let us ride for free because he was out of tickets, and lastly but not least :), the guy who served us in Piazza delle Erbe.

Enjoyed most everything in the City of Padua; like the people, the university, food, wine, Saturday food market, city council building. If I were to highlight abything it would have to be the Scrovegni Chapel, The Parmesan Cheese and great Salami.

After walking for hours, this was a good value bus ride to give our weary legs a break. It is a fun way to see the city and takes you through several back streets you would otherwise miss. The commentary was interesting and full of historical background facts.

In just under an hour you can see most of the significant architectural features, water ways & history of Padua. With taped guidance in various languages via earphones. There is the option to hop on & off the bus but everywhere is so close there really is not much point unless your mission is to stop-off at the destinations. Padua... More

We arrived at the Padova Railway Station after a short (20 minute) ride from Mestre, Italy. We ended our cruise in Venice and wanted to escape the crowds so doing some research lead us to Padova. We are so glad we did. The University founded in 1126 and the Basilica of Saint Anthony draw thousands of people to this city.... More
