Nice

Nice to get a panoramic view of Trento if you don't want to walk up the mountain. Once you get to the top, there aren't many options, just to enjoy the view.

Great little cable car!
Aug 2019
Whilst not the highest and most spectacular cable car we've ever been on, it was still a great experience. It wasn't easy to find where it went from in Trento, and we were helped by a friendly local. We used our Trentino card so didn't have to pay.
The view of the city is amazing and the viewing platform at the top provides excellent photo opportunities.
Sardagna itself is very small with a lovely, interesting church at its centre. Apart from the cafe at the top of the cable car, (which was very good), we only saw one little bar in the village itself in a tiny side street.

Priceless Panorama
Jul 2019 • Solo
Took a trip on this while waiting for the new museum in Torre Vanga to re-open at 1pm. Great bar/cafe here as well.
Free return trip with Trentino Card. Obviously not in the same league as the Rennon/Ritten cablecar in Bolzano but still an amazing experience. Cute little cabin and spectacular views.
If you have time , then visit nearby Sant Appolinare Church which you can see in the great photo above and then visit the fantastic 'Le Gallerie' Tunnels Museum also on the doorstep.

An unmissable experience with breathtaking views
Jul 2019 • Family
The cable car experience in Trento is one that is not to be missed: the cable car itself is very inexpensive at 5 euros for going and return (andante e ritorno) but one should bear in mind that the cable car itself is quite small and thus does get busy. Despite any possible complications with the capacity of the cable car, going on the Funivia is worth it for the majestic views you discover when you get to Sardagna - a panoramic terrace allows you to lap these up and makes for simply awe-inspiring photos. On the practical side, be sure to use a mapping software to get from the station to the Funivia stop as there are few signs (there is a bar next to the Funivia stop) but despite any faults the system might have, the view makes it all worth it and so I would greatly encourage this as the best attraction in all of Trento - especially during sunset.

Loved the cable car experience!
May 2019 • Couples
I've always loved cable cars and gondolas and the one in Trento did not disappoint! Our ride up was with a family with 3 wide-eyed children who were thrilled to be there. The town of Sardagna is very quiet and sleepy and there isn't much to do or see, but the views from the top are fantastic. I did learn after we were there about some hiking trails to other towns, that would have been fun. Even thought it was raining, the views were still incredible and the experience is one I would recommend.

Suspension in space, and a brief walk
Sep 2018 • Couples
We enjoyed a free round trip by virtue of our Trentino card, which our hotel in Trento (the NH Trento) had given us free of charge.

We turned up about 25 minutes before the scheduled departure, and someone was already ahead of us, so I guess it’s wise to turn up earlyish. The cable car is quite small, with room for – I’m not sure – around a dozen people perhaps. It’s standing room only too, so it’s just as well that the ride only takes a few minutes. Naturally, you get some good views over the valley on both the ascent and descent … assuming, of course that you’re not a nervous traveller who grips something – anything – very tightly, and closes their eyes!

We didn’t anticipate doing much walking from the top of the ride – though that is certainly possible – but we did, nevertheless, amble into the town and looked into the church. At that point, because it was a warm day, we spontaneously decided to head off for a short walk into the hills. It was a pleasant thing to do, but after – what, 30 minutes maybe? – we began to enter a forest, and decided that perhaps that was as far as we should go (given that we had no maps with us). So we just savoured the views and then returned to the cable station. We were the only passengers on the descent, so had unobstructed views … which I, at least, enjoyed.

If we ever return to Trento, we’d go up again, but this time after some careful pre-planning, and maps to guide us across the several numbered walks that seemed to be available. I feel we may have missed a trick there …..

Enjoyable ride to great views!

This gondola lift is a cheap and enjoyable way to see the city of Trento from above. Riding to the top takes you to a beautiful look-out point and small town with wineries around that are lovely to wander through. 5 Euros for a return trip.

Wow.. what a ride.

This valley is beautiful from the safety of being on the ground but to see the spectacular view in one area, take the ride across the river inside the cable car. There is the alternate route, driving in a car, so I’m not sure if that’s the reason there was not a lot of people waiting to board. The cable ride makes one ride up/down, I believe every 10 or 30 mins? There were 5 of us in our group and there were 3-4 other couples that took the ride with us. The ride /station looks a little dated but I guess they do safety checks since we made it across the river and up and back down the hill. There is an empty (hotel) building at the park near the viewing platform. This would be a perfect location for a cafe and maybe gift shop. You can take little or as much time exploring the park and the nearby vineyards but be mindful, the weather and temperature could be extreme and there was nowhere to buy drinks or anything you may need. The view was amazing so it made up for the lack of information or services.

Excellent cable car trip
Jul 2018 • Couples
Worth finding this small cable car up to Sardagna from Trento. It goes every hour on the hour. Euros 3 one way or Euros 5 return.

The trip takes about 5 minutes for wonderful views across Trento and the valley.

Sardagna is a small village with only limited facilities - great cafe/restaurant in the centre though.

There are some great walks from Sardagna further up the mountain that are recommended.

The walk back to Trento is excellent.

Worth doing & inexpensice

views are great. Short walk from town center. Kids would enjoy. One beer pub-type place right at the top, or you can walk about 15 minutes to the little village, where there are couple of places & a small grocery store.
