please try this walking, can be difficult for oldies and couple with children. definetely worth it. dont forget food and water with you

Nice walk nice views and lots of shadow so also with warm sunny weather a must do when you visit merano

We did the Maiser Waalweg route from Merano to Saltusio, about 10km in length. Much of the walk is under the cover of trees, which at the height of summer provides a welcome relief from the heat of the sun. After about 7km from Merano...More

These are paths alongside irrigation channels, some hundreds of years old. Most are accessible by bus [choose to walk downhill!] and there is an excellent little booklet from the Tourist Office for 3 euros with maps and info - don't be put off by them...More

Relaxing and not very heavy hiking/walking. Check out the location of the waalweg before start. Some of the don't get a lot of sun during the afternoon.
