Great area if you're into history. Nice remainings from late Roman period, although not much left, but it's still enough for a quick view.

not a whole lot but worth seeing while here
Jul 2018 • Family
There is a fenced off area containing ancient Roman walls, which was unfortunately occupied by several vagrants so we got out fast. We viewed the awesome statues of 2 ceasars and walked around the market and streets. I can't say I was amazed but worth seeing while in Turin. We asked for a walking tour at the visitor's information office but they had none. Too bad.

..a must while in Turin..

Quadrilatero (four sides) describes the area located between the Porta Palatina, almost intact, the Decumana (or Praetoria) absorbed by Palazzo Madama and two other doors now gone. Vastly gentrified, the area is a charming conglomerate of illustrious palaces, Baroque and Romanesque churches, trendy restaurants and boutiques and antique book stores. Great for both a day or evening visit or both.

This site is representing some remnants of Roman period, including Roman gates - Porta Palatina and a few excavations around. Really astonishing.

impressive old roman gate with nice park nearby
Jul 2016 • Couples
The shady park nearby gives you a nice view of the gate and statues of Augustus and Caesar. It is only a stone throw away from the historical center.

Turin's antique village
Apr 2016 • Family
We were fortunate to stay in the QR and enjoyed many days and evening walks up and down the streets. Restaurants, bars, and tons of stores give the reasons for so many people, locals and tourists to be in this area.

..enjoy getting lost in the maze of narrow streets..
Jan 2016 • Solo
.. the wave of globalization that has washed over a lot of cities, where downtown areas have been revitalized, modernized and sanitized, and essentially turned into trendy spots has made this area of Turin vibrant, lively, interesting, diverse and very attractive. And yes, trendy as well. Nice restaurants, alongside ethnic shops where you can find anything Aleppo or Nablus soap, harissa, Madagascar pepper or argan oil, dot the area. Shops that sell inmates' artifacts. Glimpse into churches and palaces, or simply the courtyards of many of the buildings that used to be slums and are now sought after real estate. You will get a taste of Turin that is difficult to forget.
