Come On Didn't you go to Italy and want to drink local wines but were not sure where to go ?

First of all, you should know what Vino Sfuso is. It is where the locals go to purchase bulk wines. Great bulk wines that is. I was walking in Venice past a store and noticed the jugs that are used for fermenting homemade wine. My curiosity forced me to enter the store. I figured out real fast what was going on when an older man came in with a bunch of empty clean bottles. The owner fills up the wines you ask for.
This vino sfuso in Milan - Enoteca Perbacco is easy enough to find near the M2 Loretto train station. It is 2 stops from central station.
The place is clean and neat. When you walk in you will see 5 stainless steel vats holding 1100 liters of wine each. They take about 5-7 minutes to fill. Imagine an oil delivery except that you are getting really good wines instead. I wish I could have watched them delivering!
There is a lovely garden in the back. See if you can sit back there and enjoy a bottle of wine. The prices are from 2.5 Euros a liter to 3.5 Euros. There is an excellent selection of bottled wines as well. There are over 15 different types of wines offered in bulk. Choosing may be tough since they are all excellent. You can buy new bottles for 1.5 Euros that reseal easily.
The proprietor whose name escapes me is friendly and knowledgeable. He also speaks good English. You can get a good idea of where the wines are from and the story behind them. The wine may be inexpensive but it is really good. Drink like the locals they ought to know.
Having written dozens of reviews try not to miss this place or the wine you cannot get anywhere else.
