Area surrounded by greenery and wholly dedicated to the sport
Nov 2019
The throroughbred horse racig area is comprised of the oval shaped Trenno track on two thousand square metres an there is a further 45 thousand square metres dedicated to the public that has the capacity to hold 20 thousan people.
The racecourse was designed by the architect Vietti Violli in 1923 and renovated in 1975.

Graffiti road
May 2019
I love this art. It's a big street full of horses and sports graffitis! I was amazed by the respect and the fact that they also paint enemy teams...

Question about the concert venue
Sep 2019 • Family
I mistakenly booked concert tickets thinking it was the stadium, what I'd like to know is, is this venue completely flat or are there raised areas ? We are attending with two 10 year olds and would like them to be able to see. after all I booked this for them to see there favourite band not us. Also are there plenty of bars/restaurants closearound we can hang in before the venue opens. Thanks

Metallica on Ippodromo
May 2019 • Friends
In order not to misled readers my review is concerning the Metallica concert held here which we attended on 8th May.
When buying our tickets I've read San Siro, having in mind the famous stadium I've been several times. Just after I bought them I've noticed it's the hippodrome, but it was too late. I knew it's not going to be good. Totally flat area for a huge audience expected didn't sound promising. Bad organization in terms of collecting the tickets and allowing entrance contributed to more bad experience. Worst of all, extremely bad weather in May with heavy rains made it a total disaster, leaving tens of thousands of us in extreme mud, with our shoes and trousers destroyed like we were in a war trench.
The choice of such a place for such a rock spectacle was a huge miss by the organizer. I wonder why it wasn't on Guiseppe Meazza stadium which is mostly covered and elevated with better views???

Great place to see live horses and horse statue
Mar 2018
Same time you can see Leonardo's horse and watch gallop races without entrance fees or queuing. Currently races are organized every Wednesday so this is a nice change for crowded areas of downtown.

We originally went to se game on San Siro, Milan vs Genoa but accidentally went in Ippodromo to take a picture of Leonardo's Horse. What happened is that race was starting in 30 minutes and we stay to look at it. Amazing experience :-)

Compact racetrack !
Oct 2016 • Couples
This racetrack is amazing to see so well laid out but surrounded by busy roads. Never saw anything like it! Very flat and compact but functional.

Day at the races
Sep 2016 • Couples
Good day out , well worth a visit . €5 entrance fee , €1 for a race card , very easy to get to as it has its own metro stop on the purple line . Visit race course web site for directions , only a few hundred yards from metro station ( 5mins walk ) . Would also be a good family day out has lots going on for little ones including a play area & pony rides .

Not ordinary sunday
Sep 2016 • Family
We spent a beautiful not ordinary sunday (for Wunder Mrkt event, a big vintage market in the park) watching a race and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere of the arena. The main building is just a perfect historical example of a very fancy building in 30s style. You can find a cafè, 3 restaurant in the garden (very fancy) and some areas for kids. We loved it.
The famous horse at the entrance is based on Leonardo's model (dedicated to Francesco Sforza) and it is the symbol of the horse arena.
Just wear a hat and enter this fabulous place.
