Welcome to the Museum of the Cathedral, a symbol of Milan all over the world. The Museum's 26 exhibition rooms house the works of art originally from both the Duomo and from the historic storerooms of Veneranda Fabbrica, now organised chronologically to illustrate all the construction stages of the Cathedral, from its foundation in 1386 right through to the 20th century.

This is a nice little museum dedicated to the iconic the Duomo cathedral in Milan. There's some interesting displays including what some of the stonework at the Duomo looks like up close. Also some statuary etc. it's not a must do, but if you have some extra time after visiting the Duomo it's worth checking out.

The museum of the beautiful Milan Duomo was unfortunately a disappointment... After being awed by the Duomo's grand interior and wowed by the terrace view above, I was ready to learn more about this magnificent cathedral in this museum. At first sight, I was excited to see the original statues that adorned the exterior, but eventually I realized that all... More

A good point of this museum is the opportunity to see a lot of statues and details near. Inside the museum is a little dark, so it's not good to take pictures. It is also possible to admire painting and artistic carpets.

Best time to visit befor 10:00, you can get tickets with ease, visit the Duomo and the museum in a relaxed way. After that time large groups appear, probably bussed in and the wait looks long, the museum mobbed. If in Milan it is worth a visit, even if you are not a history buff

The museum is included in the ticket you buy online for 20 euros. Worth a visit to get a closer look into teh different parts/statues of the cathedral.

Heard a lot about this place. It one has to see it with their own eyes. It is unbelievable how something like this could have been built at that time.

Interesting, especially for history lovers. The is also a small church inside the tour, overall worth the time to see.

If you have extra time worth the visit (it is included in the ticket with the Duomo and the roof, all together 12 euros) It is good to have a glance f the history of the duomo and see the replicas of the sculptures

We bought the museum ticket so we could also get into the church (Duomo). After touring the church, we went to the museum. It was interesting - there were a lot of statues. There was not a lot of signage to explain each item. There were two impressive scale models of the church. Overall, most of the museum seemed dedicated... More

Got tickets into the museum as part of Duomo tickets. It was very interesting to see all the artefacts they've saved from all the renovations to the Duomo.

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
