The area
Neighbourhood: Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Corso Sempione

Sempione Avenue has many shops, cafes and restaurants along both sides. You can reach to Sempione Park by passing this wide street. Located in Milan center, worth visiting.

It takes a Napoleon.....
Sep 2019
Napoleon envisioned a grand road from the Arch he commissioned at Porta Sempione at the head of Parco Sempione... thru Switzerland and into France, so he modeled this first section on the Champs-Élysées of Paris. And it is a pretty sight.

Corso Sempione is a broad avenue that takes you to Sempione Park and the Arch. We found it quicker to navigate it by tram.

Its construction during the Napoleonic era has some references to construction of similar avenues in Paris. Having a broad streets is useful to quell down rebellion, you can just line up the soldiers in a row.

Nice place

This very wide street is a continuation of Parco Sempione, and thus providing very nice views of the Arco della Pace. Nice selection of restaurants.

Well worth a visit

We heard about this place before we went to Milan as its very popular for Apertivo time. We planned our day so we could walk from the Dumo through some lovely streets of shops and into the park. It was a lovely sunny day and enjoyed a stroll through the park, when you come out Desio is directly facing you to the right. There was plenty of outdoor seating to sit in the afternoon sunshine enjoying a cold beer and lovely chilled Prosecco. We had a late lunch which was delicious and great value, the portions were also very generous. After lunch we stayed for a few more drinks until it was time to jump on an old tram (No.10) back to the Central Train Station to head home.

The only sad thing was we saw then setting up Apertivo as we were leaving and it looked delicious and a shame to miss it, but its a must for our next trip to Milan.

The inside of the venue and toilets were very fashionable.

Worth the walk over to the side of Milan.

If you want to try Italian food at a great price - try this street!
Jul 2017 • Friends
Recommended by our Son, it was a E$13 Uber ride but worth it. The historical location is itself an attraction but the row of restaurants the line the road come to life in the evening. Amazing food options to choose from, The boulevard was quiet when we arrived a little after 6pm but became alive shortly after that and by 8pm the whole street and all the eateries were humming. We chose a place offering a pretty good Apertivo buffet at 11 euros each with first drink included (including cocktails) and it was great. Afterwards we took in the historical features and the nearby park.

For a pleasant walk
Nov 2015
Not much to say about this attraction, the road along the same park, this place along which you can spend your evenings in one of the many famous night clubs and lounge bars in the city. A glamorous place suitable mostly nightly entertainment, but also pleasant to walk in daylight.
