The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Art Castle
Feb 2020
It is a vast castle starts by a picturesque entrance/gate and divided into different museums of different old prominent artists. It has a history and it includes a vast park.

One Of The 5 Museums Within Castello Sforzesco
Nov 2019
The Pinacoteca Castello Sforzesco is an art gallery/museum with the Castello Sforzesco. It holds works by several great masters in various rooms. It's definitely worth your while visiting while at the castle, if for nothing else, just to see great works of art with your own eye.

Castle is nice
Nov 2019
The castle itself is beautiful. The museum inside is interesting. They shuttle you through in groups so you spend the majority of your time waiting to go into the next room/exhibit. We went after 2pm when it was free of charge and then were eventually “kicked out” because they were closing at 5pm. I’m not sure if this is how they always move people through the museum, but seemed strange.

Colonnades at Pinacotheque de Castello Sforzesco in Milan
Nov 2018
The Pinacotheque de Castello Sforzesco in Milan is a beautiful garden area on the grounds of the castle. The colonnades are part of the building that encloses the courtyard area. Notice the sunburst insignia on the wall which reminds you of Medusa.

It's not the same
Sep 2019
It used to be free to visit the Castello with its gardens and amazing collections. But like so many churches & old palaces & public buildings in Europe you now have to pay an arm & a leg & suffer long lines to get in. If you've never been in the museums, it's worth going at least once.

If you like divinci you will like this castle. There was a movie about Di Vinci. Also there is a moat (no water). Many people were sitting or walking around the grounds.

Lovely

Lovely paintings, wonderful building. We actually unintentionally went on a free Sunday, and had to wait to get in, but I don't think there is usually a long line.

Cool to see

A lot of history to see here. When we came there was a farming event which kind of took over it but still glad I got to see some of it. Lots of info in the area for free.
