The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Green gem
Oct 2021 • Couples
A green gem in this city. It is a typical botancical garden with some attractions such as big trees or a dicksonia antarctica.

Not well kept.... but it is an attempt....
Sep 2019
...but it is still a nice place to visit and introduce children to the bounty of the planet and the joys that can be reaped from cultivation.

Medicinal plants have been grown here for over 200 years.

Two of the oldest Gingko Trees in Europe, a male and female to keep each other company.

Come and visit or study under the wisteria in full bloom...when it is in full bloom.

Cool and pretty for a picnic lunch
Jun 2019 • Couples
We had been walking around Milan all morning in a heatwave. We were brave and walked through the cool university building and out to this little gem. Small but perfectly-formed little garden, with fountain and separate areas containing plants from various areas of the world. Lots of labels telling you what the plants were. Plenty of benches on which to sit and admire the view, including the old wall of the building. Cafe and toilets. And what’s more, it’s free!

A walled oasis
Apr 2019
I usually stop in to the Brera to look at paintings each visit to Milan. It was closed, but I discovered their Botanical Gardens. You walk down hallways of the art school and into this civilized place. Since the middle ages this has been a place of study. Just the right amount of fuss and wildness. People walking around enjoying springtime leafing and budding.

Quiet and peaceful retreat
Mar 2019 • Couples
Save a visit to this garden for when you're feeling overwhelmed by the pace of Milan. While it is not a very lush garden, it is an exceedingly tranquil place to simply relax; it's clear that a lot of care has gone into its planning and upkeep. Garden-lovers will be happy, but it's not a tourist attraction in the sense of museums or cathedrals -- anyone visiting and expecting entertainment will of course be disappointed. And of course it's free, so no one has a right to complain about a lack of engaging attractions or interpretive signs, here. It is hard to find the entrance, but on the bright side, that keeps it from being busy.

A Quiet Space
Aug 2018 • Family
Nice and peaceful. Limited opening hours in August. Boron is not fascinating, but enjoyed sitting in the shade whilst children ran around. The quietest place in Milan.

Nothing special
Jul 2018 • Friends
There is a reason for the free entance: there is absolutely nothing special. The garden is very small. It is hard to find the entance.
It is a nice garden but definitely not worth visiting it unless you are in the neighborhood and have nothing better to do.

A quiet retreat in the heart of Milan
May 2018 • Friends
A visit to the Brera Accademy is a must for art lovers but not everyone is aware of the botanical garden adjacent to the Academy. It features a vast collection of plants, trees, flowers against the annex that houses the Observatory. A seductive green heaven in the heart of Milan and a welcome retreat after a visit to the busy streets of the Brera district or a welcome rest for those who have taken in the numerous paintings of the galleries of the A
