The area
Neighbourhood: Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

International and Italian contemporary art at their best
Dec 2018 • Couples
Living few metres from Deodato Art Gallery, I have always loved their displays.

The kind, gentle and expert staff (Bea, Bea and Marzia overall) are able to thrill visitors describing the story behind each artwork displayed, from Koons to Warhol, Hirst, Haring, Tomoko, Brainwash, Britto and some interesting Italian names among which Lodola, Vullo and Mr.Savethewall.

And more important, you can start a collection without the necessity to sell your house or squander your savings... So go there and enjoy a comfortable immersion in contemporary art.

Cosy, relaxed corner for art lovers.
I visited Deodato Art few times and every time I found something original, interesting, somehow standing out from the crowd.

The owner (full disclosure: he is an old time friend of mine) had always some interesting story about a painting, or a print, which brought them to life in my eyes.

This time a 2US$ bill signed by Andy Warhol is on display along with some other nice pop art pieces, a welcome variation from the more classic paintings I saw in the past. Worth a visit!

As delicious as you like !

On the way back from a trip around the world, I was looking for a peaceful retreat in Europa. Walking in the fascinating streets of Milan, I've discovered Deodate Arte. Deodate has a passion for art and he only offers paintings from famous Italian artists. He says his paintings are delicious but I'd say "heady". Concerning Deodato, he has everything you may expect to get from an Italian (food less obviously). I had already made business with him, I bought again in July 2011 and next time in Milan I'll buy again. Nothing is overpriced.
