The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Spectacular ceiling, natural lights, and an amazing place
Sep 2019
This Basilica has to be among the 3 most beautiful churches we have seen in Europe. The others being a blue church in Krakow and one on top of the castle hill in Budapest. Its a paint facade outside and when you enter, its a world of art. There is adornment everywhere but it is very pleasing and restrained. The best part was a lot of natural light illuminated the church, when i entered at about 1 pm, with hidden artificial lighting directed at the ceiling. This was in contrast to the Duomo I had visited 2 days ago where artificial lights dominated the whole church and glared at you.
IT was very quiet and contemplated and I sat there for quite some time. There were volunteers showing people around and a gentleman explained to me about the Basilica also. I think this church is one of the top attraction in Milan.

An overlooked church with a spectacular ceiling
May 2019 • Couples
This is not that small a church in the shadow of the Leonardo da Vinci Natiional Science Museum next door. Its simple facade belies a spectacular ceiling inside that is simply awe inspiring. It is truly a hidden gem and is well worth a visit.

A CEILING THAT HAS TO BE SEEN TO BE BELIEVED
Sep 2018 • Solo
This is a moderate looking church from the exterior but with a vast interior with wonderful sculptured pillars and very impressive alter. However, it's absolute jewel is it's spectacular ceiling which is a sight not to be missed.

Amazing church
Apr 2018 • Solo
This building looks nothing from the outside and most visitors probably only pass by as they enter the science museum to the left, but this church is a must see in Milan. The interiors are breathtaking and as it's completely free to visit, it should be high on anyone's list of places to see in the city.

What a surprise
Apr 2016 • Family
Before entering the science museum, we decided to visit the church just next to it. What a surprise! Behind a very sober (almost boring) front hides a sumptuously decorated church in very good condition. A really nice place to visit!

Basilica di San Vittore al Corpo is across the piazza from the Science Museum, I wandered through the heavy wooden doors out of curiosity and was blown away. The inside is unbelievably sumptuous compared with the facade. The barrel vault ceiling is covered in dozens of vignettes bordered in gold set against a cream ceiling. The ceiling of the apse has one large fresco and a number of smaller ones, here gilding replaces the cream background of the nave. While the altar is simple, the tabernacle isn’t its marble and heavily carved wood structure rise toward the ceiling. The aisles are divided into bays, each of these has a small vaulted frescoed ceiling. On the underside of the arches which separate the nave from the aisle are carved rosettes, also gilded.
Although the stained glass windows are few and not very large, I found the one with a sailing ship bearing the Papal symbol of St Peter’s keys interesting.
Amazingly I was the only person visiting.
Free to enter.

I discovered this church when I visited the museum of science, is just next door. From outside I was not even sure that is a church, but once I got in I was completely amazed. Is very beautiful!!! Also when I was in I could hear some amazing music. I stayed on a bench for one hour just to let my soul to enjoy the music and the beauty around me.

Hidden treasure
Aug 2013 • Family
Quite the opposite of the grandeur of the Duomo, this church's stunning on its own way. The simplicity of the facade doesn't represent the beauty inside it.
It didn't attract tourists as much as the Leonardo last supper or the cathedral, so it's perfect. Infact we're the only visitor at that time. We just sat quietly and absorbed the tranquility, the ambiance & the beauty...to feel the vibe.
This church really awesome!!!
