Like all churches in Italy, this one in Mantova is beautiful. But even better than the church is the tart which is particular to Mantova, sbrisolona - grab two of the ones with almonds and enjoy!

The church was impressive in marble and the paintings are quite moving. There were quite a few people in the church but it was lovely and quiet and serene

This is the second duomo in Mantua. It is the only one with a dome visible from the outside but it is not called the Duomo, which goes to a smaller basilica. This, however, is the better of the two. Beautiful inside and out.

The façade is a milestone of Renaissance. The internal architecture as well, while interior decor is much less worth.

If visiting Mantova this is one of the sights that you should include on your tour. Not as magnificent as some but worth the time.
