Beautiful, fascinating palazzo with magnificent gardens and a very interesting history. We loved visiting and wandering the gardens. Guides are provided for a tour of the palazzo. Our guide was awful (I couldn't read her name or I state it) – inappropriate jokes that fell flat, slightly condescending, and a dumbed down presentation.

While there is an extra charge to tour the palace, it is well worth it. My favourite room is the art gallery, and the puppet hall is quite remarkable. Take your time and don't rush or else you will miss the many small gems that are worth sitting and simply contemplating.

If the paintings and many of the furniture are not especially remarkable there, some objet d'art and curiosities are worth of our attention in the numerous immense rooms of this very impressive palace. Don't miss the "à la Française" gardens with the view on the lake.Count two hours for a complete visit, one for a quick one.

It was a fantastic visit to this grand palace. It is hard to believe a family owns this and not the state and that they still stay here. The history of this family is fascinating. The guide was so enthralled with the family that I thought he must be a relative. The estate is lovely and the gardens are magnificent... More

I have been here twice and you just have to experience the palace and the gardens (especially the gardens). It has a great story, sits in the middle of a beautiful lake and is a charming palace.

Started on Intra ferry and visited Isola Madre first, then lunch at Isola Pescatori and then Isola Bella. Grounds of the two Villas were beautiful and the villas were magnificent. This family was living large. Due to late start only time for quick lunch at Trattoria Imbarcadero. Food great and they got it out in time for to make the... More
