We enjoyed a fairly easy walk on this trail. We found the trail to be in good condition, easily marked, and with stunning views along the way. Well worth it.

It starts difficult if you get to the Castle, but then afterwards is much easier. I found signs pretty good, except one part, that almost got lost. Good views and lots of nature on the way,

Nice walk, difficult to find signs. Beautiful views. For our daughter of 10 years old it was sometimes pretty heavy but we were rewarded with beautiful views every time.

We started the walk in Varenna but got lost about a mile and a half into the walk. Signs are confusing and missing in spots, We turned around and came back to Varenna.

I had done Greenway del Lago di Como walk the day before on the other side of the lake, and the Sentiero is very different. While there is hardly any nature ("green") on the Greenway, on the Sentiero it is very quiet and peaceful for...More

Me and my wife tackled the Verrano to Bellano stretch of this Wayfarers route. I would say if you are not a regular hill walker you may find the route fairly challenging. Also, despite the assurances of earlier reviewers, I would suggest there is still...More

Like many reviews, this is a spectacular activity. The day was clear and very windy. The 'trail' is paths, roads, villages, etc., but the markings everyone spoke about sure need redoing. Spoke to others in Ballano who'd just done the hike and they too said...More

We read in Rick Steve's Italy that you could walk the Wanderer's Way from Varenna to Bellano, about 4 miles, and take the ferry back. So we did, and it was amazing. Very good path, very good signage, you cannot get lost. Some steep parts,...More

We hiked from Varenna to Bellano and another day from Bellano to Dervio. Each leg took about 3 hours and were very varied through villages, cultured land and forest. They are easy to walk, you just need to wear normal practical shoes or light hiking...More

You could do that, but it would be a VERY long hike from Colico to Bellano- 14.5km, with a lot of ups and downs. It took us almost 4 hours to do the 7km hike from Varenna to Bellano.

Couldn't find a detailed map in English, but a search will give multiple sites in Italian. Nonetheless, good signage along the way.
