The garden is filled with beautiful statues and stunning views of the lake as you stroll through over 2 km of gardens. There is a nice Café which was very enjoyable with outside and indoor tables. While the house was interesting the gardens is the...More

I visited the Villa for conference organised by the Italian physical society. It's a marvel and worth a visit although the entrance fee (for normal visitors) is non negligible.

Beautifully laid out and superb views of the lake and mountains beyond. We toured the gardens only as we did not have time to visit the villa itself - next time :-)

We were on garden in 12th July and it was absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful surroundings and large garden. Beautiful photos guaranteed! The garden is well-arranged and provides toilets, a nice seating area and a snack shop. We were satisfied.

If you have an interest in grand houses, and in furniture in particular, it is worth paying the extra to visit the villa rather than just the gardens. Some interesting furniture and a very fine staircase to the upper floor. Nothing fantastic about most of...More

I visited here in early- mid July. I do like well-kept, peaceful gardens but the location of these gardens is second-to -none. It's easy to see why they are rented out for weddings and meetings- the views are spectacular. As part of my 8 euros...More

So we visited here in July but the villa was closed. Gardens were ok but not worth it. The views are nice but if you are in a time crunch, skip it.

Beautiful grounds / Gardens to stroll around for a few hours. Well worth a visit, especially in the good weather

One of our favourite gardens It stretches a long way down the lake and contains a lot of interesting buildings and statues. A lot of places to sit and take in the beauty of the gardens and Lake Como. Well worth a visit.

We were staying in Menaggio so we took the ferry to Varenna. This took less than 20 mins and was very cheap and a lovely way to see the lake.

We also visited in October without a reservation, and there were very few people. Finding a parking place was a bit more problematic. We enjoyed our visit very much.
