We stayed in Varenna two weeks and came here thrice, when we were between excursions elsewhere. It is a minute away from Hotel du Lac, it is an endlessly interesting ( to we gardeners) botanical collection, and it offers a simple al fresco cafe for...More

Beautiful gardens with great views of the lake. You have to pay 5€ to visit the garden and it is totally worth it. Gardens are big enough to have a good stroll.

The house, as well as a museum, is also now used for conferences - what a great setting that would be! The gardens are extensive, with a huge variety of plants and many places to sit and view the lake. The house is well set...More

Can’t say enough about this beautiful garden. Wonderful sights and fragrances. The museum in the villa is also interesting. I wouldn’t bother to pay the “full” admission for the gardens at the next-door Hotel Cipressi though — they pale in comparison.

The gardens are a delight to see. Amazing views. We weren't told the entrance to villa was extra so missed out.

This is a lovely well kept garden dating back a very long time. Well worth the small entry fee to explore the beautifully keot gardens and get some lovely photographs around the place at the same time

I am not sure if it is open. But, however if it is not open, you can walk along the road about 7 feet from above it and actually see it all from the road.

We were staying in Menaggio so we took the ferry to Varenna. This took less than 20 mins and was very cheap and a lovely way to see the lake.
