We walked across the boardwalk to reach the Villa but at this time it is being renovated and access was impossible. We enjoyed a beer at the local Beach Bar (with Lido) and the view of the other side of the Lake.

Not to be missed, a short walk from Tempio Voltiano to the magnificent Villa Olmo, neoclassic building in front of the lake, overviewing all town of Como. This pedestrian-only boardwalk connection lets you enjoy water, mountains and nature.

The walk to Villa Olmo from Como is attractive and pleasant. Alas, when we got there, it was a construction site and was being newly landscaped.

Currently all of the gardens are being rennovated including the Italian garden at the front of the villa and there is no public access. The works will take some time -we were told it will be finished in a year but I doubt this. So...More

Despite that it is beautiful, from the side facing the lake, you meed to discover a garden behind the villa. Moreover, during summer it holds apperitivo and late night parties with music ;)

This villa is worth a detour, a must see. Take your time to explore the garden and all the rooms open to the public. Napoleon was here, we were here .... Just overwhelming.

I was impressed with this villa interior. It has unbelievable frescos and paintings. The rooms are gorgeous, it is a mini Versailles. It is very unassuming though and free of charge. Nice views of Lake Como to enjoy after the visit.

Esprit for the delay. I believe the grounds are open all year round. After reading other reviews it would seem the villa is in need of refurbishment but the grounds are beautiful
