The climb up is pretty hard (at least for not very sporty people) but view up there is amazing! We spent up there at least an hour, just watching and enjoying. Castle is not open every day but even when it is closed, you can climb almost to it. Also there are chairs and tablez so you can have picnic... More

It's an extremely long walk from the waterfront to the castle. The last hour or so is a long windy gravel road that is uphill all the way. There's a great view of the city of Como and the lake once you reach the top. The castle is only open a couple of days a month and if you go... More

So castello baradello is the lit fort you see looming over como. Prepare to hike for a couple of kms. A word of caution : Check the timings before you go or else you cannot go inside. Saw many who has gone inside jumping over the wall though. But you still cannot go inside the fort. You can have great... More

This is a castle situated on a hill in como. you need to park the car at the base and start the hike up. but the view is fantastic - worth the hike. it's a bit cold - could be snowing in the winter.

It’s a castle on a hill near to Como. It’s a historical site. You can park your car on the base, and then you need to hike up for about 30 minutes. The hike is easy and any novice can hike too. Once you reach the top, the view of city Como are just lovely! Check opening timings before hand... More

Very nice views of our lovely Como. The trekking is short and easy (in mountain bike is even simpler). Lovely to spend some afternoon time. Restaurant at the top, but I have not tried it.

Cautioned by the reviews of fellow visitors we checked at the hotel reception whether the castle was open that day. The gentle lady consulted the web and confirmed it was open. Hence we drove up the hill as far as feasible, parked the car and then hiked to the top (sneakers recommended). When reaching the entrance it turned out the... More

After a long walk we find everything closed and locked. No sight what so ever over the city or surrounding due to heavy vegetation. No info telling us about openings. Everything in bad condition and vandalised. Typical italian disaster, nice things totally left behind.

After a long walk up to the top of the hill. The views are breath taking and tranquility reigns with the magical panorama.
