About
This is what Italy is all about when you visit this scenic park on Lake Como, as you gaze upon the magnificent views of the distant Swiss Alps that seem to touch the waters of the lake.

Unique

Maybe the best place to overlook the whole of the lake. You can drive there, but very little chance to park - so you better walk.

Amazing view from this point
Sep 2020
This view point is a short walk from when you arrive to Bellagio by Ferry. Just turn left when you get off and follow the signs or the crowd. There is a small garden area and a restaurant. The views here, especially on a sunny day are fantastic. You simply have to come here.

Just spectacular
Oct 2019
Viewpoint at the top of Lake Como. A breathtaking panoramic view that allows you to see the two arms of Lake Como. A short walk from the center of the town. A small green area in front where you can rest on the benches or on the grass. You can see both legs of Lake Como, Varenna side and Mennagio side. Worth the time to view the beautiful mountains in the distance overlooking beautiful Lake Como.

Scenic highlight, and at the same time clue of the geological history of Lake Como
Dec 2019
After many decades, I went back to Punta Spartivento (= "cape of split wind") on a cold but clear winter day.
The walk on foot from the pier is short, but it is closed between the fences of the villas, so that the unsuspecting traveler is suddenly displaced in the exciting view on this extreme northern end of Bellagio, overlooking the center of the lake, at the widest point - almost "on maritime way" wide - of the lake itself. Here is the peculiarity of Bellagio, which founded its fame, as it makes it so different from other, albeit beautiful, coastal locations: looking out over the three "horns" that make up the lake itself.
Certainly going up on the hills behind the town you will discover other even more fascinating views; but this can be reached with an almost flat path, therefore within everyone's reach.
Reading the geological history of the lake, I found that the straight ideal line that connects Bellagio to Varenna (on Eastern shore) was in the remote period occupied by a mountainous relief, and that the once huge glacier giving rise to Lake Como had to carry out excavation work and destruction of this relief, to continue its furrow towards the Lecco branch. This phenomenon - now readable only by an expert eye - helps to explain what the viewer may seem to be an "indecision" of the glacier: digging west towards Como, or south towards Lecco?
In reality - as far as I understand - it isn't indecision, but erosive actions that have unfolded in consecutive periods. And this founds the exceptional shape of Lake Como among the Italian lakes (and not only them).

Great view, excellent service
Oct 2019
I suppose it depends on what you're used to and what you like, but we both loved our meals, and we could barely put our wine glass down without someone refilling it. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the price was great for the quality and service.

Beautiful view over Lake
Sep 2019
We took a short walk to La Punta Spartivento before visiting the park of the villa Serbelloni. The view over Lake Como is beautiful. There is also a restaurant, which I did not visit.

lovely place to sit and relax and just enjoy the view, especially on a clear day, this is a public area and nothing to do with the restaurant there, they only share the name

Fish and chips/drink €76! Ordinary
Aug 2019 • Couples
We have been staying in Bellagio for almost one week trying many different restaurants. This was the most we paid for the least enjoyment. We had fish as it is supposed to specialise in fish. Boring! This restaurant and the staff thinks it's pretty special, but it's ordinary. I've had the fried perch elsewhere in Bellagio with rissoto and it was much better than this restaurant. Don't bother!
