I have a feeling people don't really know about this little medieval gem. Do please try to put it onto your itinerary when in Città Alta, you won't regret it.

Stop by here for a few minutes just to admire the plaster walls and numerous original frescoes. A perfect place to cool down on a hot day, this church is noticeably old. Just come in for 15 minutes or so!

Pay a few euros to turn the lights on and give yourself a self-guided tour. A docent from the treasures of the duomo suggested checking out this church and we weren't disappointed

It was a bit hard to find , but it was worth it. The option to turn the light on is not inside, but at the door outside (1 euro is more than enough to see everything). Chanced upon this on a rainy day during our visit. A small church easily missed as you make your way down the hill of Via Porta Dipinta. You have to insert some coins to light it up but are rewarded with some fascinating artworks of varying ages painted directly onto the walls. Gives you an insight into how churches were... More
