My wife an me were bicycling in Como area. We stayed in really nice hotel near city Como. Cycling is a very practical way to enjoy lake Como and mountains around it. By bike it takes only 20 minutes to Switzerland and one and a half hour to lake Lugano. Cycling to Menaggio and taking ferry to Belaggio - enjoying... More

Busy is the new stupid. Running a business 24/7 or working around the clock are not the things that one remembers. Only true workaholics will share office pics on Instagram to their brothers in arms. Who would share or like this kind of photos? Who would remember these moments tomorrow? Technology has changed the concepts of work, recreation and travel.... More

Amazing nature, lakes and mountains, best time to come is in the spring before it gets too hot and too crowded, the lower part of the lakes (Como to Menaggio) is the best part. As well as a boat trip to Bellagio.

We wanted to experience a trip to lake Como but didn't fancy any if organised trips so hope our logistics might help you plan your own as all worked really well with efficient Italian trains and ferries ! Booked tickets Milan Centrale station to Varenne online using Treine Italia website - no seating reservations so paid for first class as... More

Have wanted to visit this beautiful place for a long time and went with several couples. Take the ferry and cross to all the many quaint little towns along the lake. Great way to see the lake and the surrounding towns. Traffic and roads are very difficult to drive as very narrow and winding but doable.

Very nice and tourist-friendly little city. One hour train ride from Milan. Only 4.80€ return ticket. Wonderful short but intense trip on the funicular to the top of the mountain. Astounding views from the lake (sunny day also helped), with clear sight of Switzerland at the other side of the lake.

Forget the tours, build you own DIY one for a quarter of the price. Bought a ticket at the Como boat landing station for the 10am slow trip that does a wonderful zig zag up the lake taking about 2.5 hours and ends up in Bellagio. Worth getting in the queue 15 mins early so your at the front by... More

The drive from Milan to Como was easy. Nice countryside. Take a look at the Roman baths in the parking lot of the medical building. The tram up the mountain is a definite tour to do. It's a easy going little town with lots of architecture.

We went on a tour that we booked from Australia and were promised a long cruise (2-3 hours), half a day in Bellagio and entrance into villas. We got none of this. Instead we were shoved onto a tour of around 80 people to only Lake Como, got hours of free time there with a ride up the funicular (we... More

Visited here on a Thursday and it was a little piece of paradise. Lucky enough to be driven there but you can also get there by train. Very relaxing and tranquil. However it gets very crowded and busy at weekends.
