Drove in from Monte Carlo, about half an hour depending on traffic. The town has character, the Friday market is a great place to find a few bargains. It's a pity the town is a little run down. Its a far cry from the opulence...More

We had a wander round but there isn't a great deal to see. There are much nicer places in the nearby valleys. The new town nearby is quite rough and polluted with traffic.

Beautiful and friendly. Couldn't speak the language but the Italians didn't mind. They were all very helpful and liked to smile a lot.

Even on a rainy day, the open air market was a special place to visit. From fresh, colorful vegetables to vibrant hued flowers to sausages and local cheeses, my husband and I loved the alive, happy vibe. And, if you're looking for authentic pasta, pastries...More

Incredible, you cross the river into this old town from the new one and it feels like stepping back in time, going back a couple of hundred years. Don't just visit the cathedral and piazza, do take the time to walk around the narrow streets...More

A typical coastal old town, similar to nearby Menton but not as well kept. Luckily some buildings have been taken care of, notably the thousand year old romantic cathedral with an interesting crypte. The view over the sea is splendid, what is missing are nice cafes...More

We took the train from Nice to go to the Friday Market and it was packed with both vendors and customers. It was a really fun day and we loved the huge assortment of things for sale. It was a very lively atmosphere and definitely...More

This is how you take yourself to Ventimiaglia Alta - the Old Town on foot: 1) From the railway station take the second (I think) turn to the right, look for this corner "Perfume' boutique. Don't follow the blue arrow, you need the street with...More

The old town of Ventimiglia has been partly well restored, although lots to do still it has the Mediterranean charm of a typical border town before entering France. The steep narrow streets keep you cool in the summer months and often spectacular views in between...More

I went just for an afternoon on a Sunday (probably not the best day to go admittedly) but definitely thought there would be something more there! Old town was very pretty but we'd seen it all in about half an hour! Then be aware as...More

Hi, yes, the market is only on Fridays. It is a small town, so anywhere is walking distance. There are a lot of holiday appartements right in front of the beaches, many good restaurants around. But with kids of 10ish, I... More

September 19th is Tuesday, as far as I can see. The Friday market starts approximately at 9 a.m., maybe even earlier, as they have food there, too - local cheese and ham, spaghetti, olive oil, etc. I guess it's true that... More

There is plenty of parking just outside the Old Town. Best to park in the Square which is just near Ventimiglia Marina near promenade. Hope this helps.
