Cathedrale Visit

Well preserved cathedrale, worth the climb to see. The art work and other artifacts. Definitley deserves all the praise as read in the othr reviews. A must see when in Ventomiglia.

It was nice to stop in and visit. There were people there filming something that looked like a soap opera, it probably would have been nicer to visit if those people hadn't been there.

This is a plain old church with very few statues, paintings, gold, etc. But, that is it's beauty. The construction of the walls is the original block work which is very interesting. You feel like you have gone back to a church five hundred years ago. We have seen hundreds of churches in Europe but this one really impressed me.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta is an old one, since it was built around 1,100 AD. Austere and simple, it is worth paying a visit if you are around Ventimiglia old town. Ideal for weddings, you might meet people cheering the bride outside the church. If you have a car, there is a small parking just behind the church.... More

It was one among the many nice surprises the Ligurian city of Ventimiglia offered us. There was already sometime that we were curious about this city and finally we decided to explore it. I believe it's not among the most talked-about Ligurian cities, but it has a peculiar charm, nice gardens, a beautiful blue sea and a lovely medieval center... More

Impressively austere - a little like a Cistercian abbey inside. Beautiful stonework, and an ancient crypt accessible via steep steps down to the Cathedral's foundations. Stunning views over the roof tops and coast of Ventimiglia from a viewpoint at the end of the adjacent car park.

This is a very old cathedral that is worth a visit. All the old cathedrals have beautiful architecture and art, and this is no exception.

I love how this cathedral sits way up high on a hill. It is very old and historic. There's also a crypt dating back from the VII century. Although this Cathedral was as ornate as other Italian Cathedrals, it is definitely worth the visit.

This ancient cathedral, also listed as a basilica, is surprisingly moving to see. It is located high on the hill of the old town, overlooking the new town below. They advertise that the crypt in the basement dates from the VIII century. The chapel is made of many blocks of carved sandstone (or coquina rocks, as we would say in... More

Not your usual Italian church quite British in its appearance Free entry but make sure you leave a donation to keep this beautiful building open to the public It's tranquil and serene and well worth taking the time for a visit
