Local church - fun to see

Very charming. Every time I go to Portofino, I go into this church. Walking up and down moderate hills is necessary.

This little church sits at the top of a very steep hill just behind the little town of Portofino. Although I understand its significance, I don't think it was worth the effort to get there. The narrow walkway is extremely steep and is a challenge for many that try to make it. The inside of the church is in need... More

Take the walk up the hill for a great view of a Portofino. once in front of the church look to the left for great photos. Then enter the church and go to the right and see the statue of St Georgio fighting the dragon. A beautiful church with a great view !

This sanctuary is dedicated to the saint patron of Portofino. Located in a magnificent panoramic view position. Interesting tombstones remembering famous people who lived in the town.

It was a little bit of a climb to reach this beautiful little church but it was well worth the effort. The views from the church of Portofino are lovley ad the church itself a quiet peaceful place to mediate for a few minutes. Catch the ferry and enjoy this beautiful village in the Italian Riveria.

For the most extraordinary views of Portofino and the ocean surrounding it, a relatively easy walk up a paved pathway, could be accessed by pram or wheel chair if required. We were visiting on a cool autumn day, still beautiful. Check out the side of the church which has many dedications to the past people who are recognized by their... More

Don't be put off by the simple exterior. When we entered the church we were surprised to see such a display of wealth.

A most beautiful church at Portofino village. You need to climb many steps to get there but we were glad we did it.

A typical church but with excellent views on the outside. If you are lucky to get a ceremonial, a wedding for instance, it will be very interesting then. More probable on Saturdays and Sundays of course.

When you get off the boat don't just head for the shops and cafes with the rest of the crowds, turn left and climb the hill up to the church. It's about a 10-15 minute walk and is well worth it for the church and views from the top.
