The views from the sea are breathtakingly beautiful. We also drove up the coast and then explored the Cinque Terre by foot and Train. The villages are colorful. The landscape surrounding them astounding. There are terraced hillside vineyards, olive, and lemon groves. Truly one off the...More

Lord Byron did make a swim from Porto Venere to Lerici. Probably not in same conditions: orange alert and heavy rain.. but still the place is tempting, powerful and likeable. Somehow you feel like you are come "home". Must write a poem or two :)

The views from portovenere across the golfo dei poeti on one side and down the cinque terre on the other are incredible. A small traditional place but really worth seeing.

The five towns along the coast of Cinque Terre are beautiful and fun to explore. Do your homework in advance to figure out which options - hiking, boating or train hopping - is best for you and your group. You need to purchase a pass...More

The Golf of Poets with Lerici, Portovenere and the small islands is a beautiful spot in Liguria, at the beginning of the 5 Terre. The settings is unique. It is suggested to have a boat tour to better appreciate it.

I visited this area as part of a tour Group. We took the boat from La Spezia with hundreds of other tourists and locals . Whilst others on board could get off earlier, we stopped first at Portovenere. For us this was our first close...More

We preferred Porto Venere to the Cinque Terre. Just as beautiful as it's famous neighbours, but far easier to reach, less crowds and a really lovely atmosphere. Would love to visit again and maybe stay here instead of La Spezia

Take a bus or boat but don't miss the best gem of La Spezia. Natural and historical beauty that is breathtaking.

Porto Venere is really a jewel, strolling in and up the town is a magic experience, the only problem is parking but once this is reasonably solved it is possible to enjoy the place in many fashions

Bus is convenient, buy tickets from stalls near his-stop. Ask the local people. Regular buses go there.
