This trail was awesome. Lots to see. Just enough of a challenge but not too difficult. Lots of spots to take a break along the way.

Trail 2a – the Via dell'amore– is currently closed because of a landslide. It is not expected to reopen until 2021. It is the most traveled, possibly because it is the shortest – 900 meters – and has the least change in elevation – only...More

I only did the part of the trail between Corniglia and Vernazza. The part between Riomaggiore to Corniglia (via Manarola) was closed (and has been so for a long time according to various posts/blogs). But even that small stretch packs a lot of excellent views...More

I took a shuttle bus to Volastra and hiked from there to Corniglia and then Corniglia to Vernazza. The views were amazing and the little bar halfway between Corniglia and Vernazza was so a great put stop for a lemonade/vodka slushy!! The hike was challenging...More

This hike is not terribly difficult but amazing views. Most segments from each city take about one hour. If you want to avoid crowds take the higher hikes.

We hiked from Corniglia to Vernassa and then from Vernassa to Monterosso. Each one took us 1 1/2 hours. I would say the trail between Vernassa and Monterosso was more challenging but it helped that we did it in the north-bound direction. The views are...More

We started in Monterosso and hiked first to Vernazza and on to Corniglia. It took about 4 hours. It is pretty intense and steep and some points but well worth the breathtaking views!

We hiked from Vernazza to Monterosso. It took us about 2.5 hours as we stopped for pics and break. The initial 30 minutes was the hardest as it was steep - rocky steep stairs (shoes are better). The whole trail was very picturesque with views...More

It seemed to us quite difficult to get accurate advice about which sections of the trail are ope. Eventually we took the train (€4) to Monterosso, bought a hiking pass for €7 for the day and walked to Vernazza. It took about 1 hr 40...More

Yes absolutely. There is a train that takes you from town to town and it's an easy option if hiking is not. You can purchase the train tickets at any of the towns.
