Trail’s not open at the moment! Train or bus is the only option between towns. Riomaggiore is pleasant, not especially interesting.

As the word was that the trial is closed I opted for the train. The village of Manarola is stunning! It was on my bucket list of must see destinations, and it did not disappoint. Stunning scenery.

Both the footpath and hiking trail are closed between Riomaggiore and Manarola. The only alternative is a 3 hour hike, which is too much in this heat with children. We will need to take the train to see Manarola. Very disappointing.

I stayed in the town of La Spezia which is just a short train ride from Riomaggiore. To date it is one of the most scenic places I've been to. These 5 little towns all have something special. Be sure to bathe in the "hidden...More

This walk takes effort but was so worth it, it’s the second time we have done it and still just as good as the first.

Yes there is at least one. I think there are more than that though. Once you get to the area go buy your trail pass at the booth (near the train station ) and the people there can give you the alternate routes. I am 61 years... More
