We walked up to the entrance of the Via Dell Amore in Manarola knowing the majority of path was still closed but wanted to see what we could. The short distance that is reopened has such an amazing view. It became our first memories of the beautiful Cinque Terre. I look forward to returning one day and walking it's entirety... More

Via dell amore is a must see when you come to Cinqueterra. However, most of the path is closed due to some rock falls injuring some tourists several years ago. They are working on securing the path so it can be reopend again most likely in 2018. The view of the coast and the ligurian costline to the north is... More

Planned to walk this last, very easy stretch from Manarola to Riomaggiore (as the heat and our footware made the more scenic routes a bit too hard), and according to the Cinque Terre office on La Spezia station the only closed trail was the one from Manarola to Corniglia. This was wrong, this trail was also closed, and to make... More

We were here in August 2014. Unfortunately the trail was closed to walkers and will not open, according to reports, until mid or end 2015. Part of the path has collapsed. Despite this huge disappointment, there is so much to do in the Cinque Terre with lots of alternative trails and treks, it did not put us off. It is... More

Currently closed until mid 2015 due to storm damage. The trail from Riomaggiore to Manarola is known as the Via Dell'amore. It is wheelchair friendly . If you have a glass of wine in the bar at Rionmaggiore before you go on the walk and watch the boats come into Riomaggiore. Then start your walk , you will come into... More

Unfortunately the path Via Dell Amore was still closed in September 2014. But the pretty view, many bars and restaurants made everything okay. We would liked to take a hike there, but unfortunately I had some backpain troubles so that was not an option for now. The many paths there are also very liem, that was though enough!

Update as of 08 Oct 2014 Good News: Almost all the upper trails are still open. Bad News: The most popular, short and easy trails parts of Via Della Amore along the sea (SVA 592 trail on map (see link)) remains closed between the first 3 towns of (Riomaggiore to Manarola to Corniglia) However, the portions of the Via Della... Visited the area today (Sept 10, 2014) and confirmed that the trail from Riomaggiore and Manarola as well as the trail between Manarola and Corniglia are both closed indefinitely. It is difficult to see on the English version of the park's website, but is clear on the Italian version: http://www.parconazionale5terre.it/sentieri_dett.asp?id_lingue=1&id_prodotto=44 http://www.parconazionale5terre.it/sentieri_dett.asp?id_lingue=1&id_prodotto=46 Most other trails were open and accessible.

When I visited the official site today (Aug. 20, 2014), it said the path was reopened. I am so lucky as I will visit there this October. Even though this isn't a review, I would like to share the good news.

It WILL reopen someday and when it does make sure to find time for a stroll. On a sunny day it is fantastic. At sunset it is a forever memory. It's a one mile paved path along the rocky coast. Take your sweetie for a leisurely walk. We have walked it several times, but not in our recent visit, as... More
