The square is the heart of Trieste. All the events that really count for the town happened here. Just in face of the square , you MUST walk on the Molo Audace (the place where after the First World War an Italian militar ship arrived and the town joined finally to Italy leaving the Austro-Hungarian empire) , turn on your... Main square of Trieste is open to the sea on one side and surrounded with high square buildings on the three sides. Architecture is imperial classicist style. They are impressive and cold. More human like are some side streets. You can find some small monuments on the open paved surface and tourist office at the side of square. Place is... More

This square doesn't look like tipical Italiano Palazzo. Trieste is not so overcrowded place. So you will be able to enjoy this Piazza whenever you want!

This attraction is located on the waterfront. During the day the history of the Piazza is interesting but at sundown when the lights come on, the scene takes on quite a different life. Not to be missed!

We walked around this area every day as it is in the centre of town. It looks great lit up at night. It`s next to the sea front & is surrounded by nice buildings

This square is definitely beautiful. It's white colors and the blue lights on the floor give a beautiful atmosphere. The seaside in front of the square is the perfect detail. To be visited.

This is certainly the most beautiful square in the city. You have impressive buildings in all the directions of it, and it's large area gives an imposing sensation. We were making a quick day trip to Trieste from Slovenia, however you certainly can visit the museums and other places if you want to spend more time. Otherwise, just spend the... More

Really beautiful seafront square. Buildings around it show history of the city which once was not part of Italy. During the night, lighting makes it even more beautiful.

The music and the decorations at Christmas made this a must see location. There was a little café that you could sit at outside with blankets and enjoy the setting.
