Not what I am accustomed to when it comes to a lighthouse, and it its rather stunning and visually / artistically interesting. I just viewed it form the outside (not sure if you can go in) but glad I stopped by.

Good place to get a workout. Took the bus which was super convenient because parking is a little difficult. Admission is free and we took the steps (230) to the top, which sounds difficult, but it's well lighted and even steps, not hard. The vistas were worth those steps and more. Absolutely beautiful.

We checked the times but not dates, i know, my bad. We got there after a 40 min walk to find out its shut in March. Promptly uploaded a pic of the board so no one else makes my mistake! Good views from across the road but sure they would have been better from the top!

The lighthouse is open daily and has free entry. The architecture of the lighthouse itself and the enclosing compound is very attractive and there are great views from the top balcony, a climb of 250 steps from ground level (there is a lift for those who don’t fancy the climb). Visits to the top are limited to 15 minutes which stops it getting excessively crowded up there.

Only open certain days, but I can't remember which - look it up! We checked in advance it would be open; just as well as it was a long walk from Trieste centre. I was glad having walked that way in the heat that we were able to get the lift up. Good views.

We found ourselves on the Strada del Friuli and could not find a left turn to get onto the coast road so we passed this amazing majestic and imposing Faro della Vittoria a couple of times. It was built on the hill of Gretta which overlooks the Gulf of Trieste and is 60 metres above sea level.. It stands 68 metres high and weighs 8000 tonnes, it took 4 years to build 1923 - 1927. This lighthouse was designed by a triestine architect Arduino Berlam it has several sculptures at its base and is adorned by the copper winged Victory statue by Giovanni Mayer on the top. We did not manage to visit but it is open from April to October Saturday and Sunday 3-7 and has 285 steps. It is electrically powered. It shines and remembers the fallen at sea 1915 - 1918.

This lighthouse is visible from points across Trieste. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to go inside when I was there, and I didn't see any obvious information on whether there were set opening times. But still looks pretty good from the outside.

This is a working lighthouse in the Bay of Trieste. It as commissioned by King Victor Emmanuel III after WWI to commemorate the fallen in that war. Construction was completed in 1927. It was completely restored in 1986. It is open free of charge from 3-6pm weekdays. A gorgeous view of the City and the Bay is had from the top.

At a height of 223 feet (68 m) it is one of the tallest lighthouses in the world. The site of the lighthouse is open to the public free of charges.
