The temple is called ˝Formaggino˝ by the locals because of its shape (formaggino meaning ˝small cheese˝). We kind of ended here by chance but I think we were kind of destined to end up here eventually because since the day I spotted this building from San Giusto I was very fascinated by it. My relatives in Trieste had a bad... More

This is not the usual type of church you'd expect to come across in a country where ancient churches abound, however it is well worth a visit to check out the interesting architecture. While the modern style may not be to some people's tastes, it is a great contrast. The floor is magnificant, polished to a mirror like shine and... More

This church has amazing view on the Golf of Trieste. That's one thing you should visit it. Second is the church itself. The church includes two churches - upper and lower one. Although it is made of concrete I didn't get the feeling it is cold. Interior is reach although simple. If you are interested in churches, definite "a must... More

A monumental temple/church with unique architecture, amazing view on the gulf of Trieste, definitely worth visiting if you are on a day trip around Trieste.

This House of God has all the charm of a municipal multi-story carpark. A great big lump of concrete plonked on top of a hill overlooking Trieste. On the terrace, with your back turned on this monstrosity, you can enjoy stupendous views of Trieste and the across the bay. It's worth coming up here for a walk through the woods,... More

I walked up through the forests to this landmark temple. It is very simple from inside but gives a sense of great height due to the lofty ceiling. There's a nice electric toy model inside that you can operate to see dolls moving on tracks. There's plenty of hiking and biking trails to and from the temple leading up and... More

This place of worship provides an interesting architecture, and the terrace offers lovely views to the Trieste Gulf (too bad the vegetation just below the fence can't be a bit trimmed to offer even more spectacular views!).

Monte Grisa is a landmark in Trieste. One can see it from everywhere in town as it is stuck up to overlook the city. It's an impressive construction, that's for sure - its unusual shape (to me it looks like a deck of cards) is intriguing and visiting it is quite an experience. Admittedly, the view is spectacular, but you can have the same one from the Via Napoleone, which is a very nice walk just below. This church is an architectonic error visible all over Trieste and discussed for it's ugliness for years. If you are a very religious person you might consider visiting, but with such a great choice of numerous... More
