Lovely Structure and Nice Views
Jul 2019
My all-inclusive ticket gave me access to the tower so I had to go up it - my wife did not fancy the climb!
At the entrance you can look down and see the original mosaic floor through which the foundations were built.
I was a safe climb up good steps up to the top where you get decent views over a largely flat landscape - so not the best viewpoint really.
Be sure to time your visit so you are not at the top when the bells ring as the are very loud when you are next to them!
Worth the effort - but only just.

Great mosaic and good views

Well worth the climb up, and don't forget to look down at the mosaic before you start. I'm not sure I'd want to be up there at noon though!

Impressive Bell Tower
Oct 2017 • Friends
Seeing the bell tower was part of our "Footsteps in roman Aquileia". The Italians were and are fabulous builders. It was a pleasure to see history. We saw it from the outside. Too tired to climb stairs

Not that easy to get up, but worth the effort

They warn you that it is more than 100 steps to climb up to the top of the tower, and the staircase is narrow, the steps steep.

Just buy an “all inclusive ticket”
Aug 2018 • Family
Visiting the sites, I registered several times that people bought only the basic entrance fee for the church without the tower or even the basement. Even with limited time I can only recommend not to save 3 euros and miss the best!

Nice view of the church, Roman remains

Bell tower from like 1100, built on top of (still partially visible, also in the tower) mosaic from around 300.
Quite some, uneven steps (but what to expect when they are nearly a millennium old), giving a great view of the town, and the beautiful surroundings.

Looong way up :D
Jul 2018 • Family
The view was really nice. You can see all the area from the top...the vineyards. But get prepared for over 200 stairs and to meet other people on your way up (or down) in super tight space. But we deffinitely enjoyed!

It is really nice to climb the tower, you get rewarding views of the surroundings and you can see some artifacts in the ground level.

Worth A Look, Even From The Ground
Aug 2017 • Couples
An impressive campanile, it helps to anchor an imaginary triangle with the cemetery and basilica. It is one of the tallest structures in the area and there is some notable artwork visible from the base.

Climb the 126 steps to the top and get a good view!
Jul 2016 • Couples
We paid 2 euros and climbed the 126 stairs up to the top of the clock tower. It was well worth the Money and the eforts! We got a wondeful view over both Aquilea and the whole area! But be Ward of the time! I wouldn't recommed 12 noon because of the bells are ringing!
