Second fortified Emilian city
Jul 2020 • Solo
Together with Ferrara, Piacenza has the ancient walls. Two-thirds of the 6,5 km are still visible.
They were built in 16th century under the government of Farnese’s family.

A walled city
Aug 2018 • Family
Piacenza town walls date back from the 16th c. Of course the city has spread outside the ramparts in the following centuries, but the walls have been preserved and they offer a chance for pleasant walks in the green.

Not very well kept

It is interesting to walk to the old Roman city wall. There are still two parts visible, but it seems to me, that the city doen't take care of it.

Nice experience
Apr 2017 • Solo
These are two sections of the old town walls that are still standing. While there is nothing exceptional about them, it does make for a nice afternoon, or morning stroll.

A rare remains of the Roman walls
Dec 2015 • Family
Not much is left of the Roman walls, but worth seeing for history lovers. It is not welll kept, neither treated like a monument. A pity...
