Excellent location to watch the world go by, great spot with some good cafe bars and plenty of stunning architecture. Centre of town, just by the main shopping streets

This is big city market with very nice buildings around it. The light at night time is a little dark, and during the weekend the market was on my suprise not so busy.

Visit the Basilica and people watch over a coffee. Visit the whispering gallery and talk to your friend through the walls.

In this square, you will find the cathedral and the city museums. The tourist bureau is also here. You can purchase the Bologna card here for free entrance into most of the sites, and you sign up for a free 1.5 hour tour that includes the towers, the cathedral, and the surgery at the university.

There is a cafe directly across the pizza from Petronio, with table lining the steps outside; this is the perfect vantage point, day or evening, to stop, sit, have... More

One of the nicest piazzas in Europe. Great for a coffee or a glass of wine, while seemingly the entire populous of Bologna passes. Easy to walk to all the hot spots from here.

Being a central square makes it easy to attract visitors, but it is really quite stunning. During my first visit I mostly saw it in the daylight, but now I think I prefer the evening hours when it is warmly and tastefully lit up. Just stroll around, breath the air, grab a bite and contemplate the skills of the craftsmen... More
