Also called Palazzo del Carrobbio or Loggia della Mercanzia. From afar, it looked like a small castle or something, but when we got closer, we realised what it was. The facade has a very interesting and intricate architecture - this one alone is worth some moments to admire.

One can almost hear the layers of voices of Roman and later tradesmen around this beautiful square. It feels as if you could hear the sound of golden and silver coins being exchanged for all sorts of goods from around the Mediterranean and beyond. Another must-see in Bologna.

Hard to miss if you are in heart of Bologna, marvel beauty of the building either during the walk or spend a moment and enjoy a glass of wine in one of nearby cafes and wineries.

Built in the 14th Century for commercial activities, this building looks like a small castle from across the square. The swallowtail design of the crenelations indicate the merchants' assertion of their independence from Rome. I understand that the chamber of commerce now resides in the building.

Beautiful palazzo with a nice smaller piazza in front of it. Located in between the main square, the towers and San Stefano

It's a nice building close to the two towers of Bologna. It was the palace outside the walls of the city, it was the distribution center for goods.

The Palazzo dell'Archiginnasio is interesting. We bought the tour to go into anatomical theater. Interesting. Well worth the 3 euros.

located in the very heart of the city, just at the towers, the old traders building (chamber of commerce) is a nice building with some interesting features. have a close look at the clock on the front side for example. the nice square in front invites for a drink.

It's not all that impressive from the outside, but the Palazzo is well worth a visit. The outside does have a couple of small pieces of decor worth stopping to see, but otherwise, it's the interior to catch.
