Italian cooking lessons in an Italian home! We are happy to teach you how...

Italian cooking lessons in an Italian home! We are happy to teach you how to prepare authentic Italian dishes and although we are friendly, we are also quite serious about teaching you the right way to make these dishes and ensuring that you will be able to replicate these back home. Your success back home is our objective. We are professional and experienced but not stuffy or arrogant. Our specialty is pasta making, the old fashioned way; the way the Italian grandma's still make it (with a wooden rolling pin and board)! You will make several pasta shapes and sauces and won't miss anything! We also teach how to cook with local specialties like Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, Bologna Mortadella and Prosciutto from Parma. We cook with fresh seasonal produce, meats, and seafood. Lessons are personalized and held in small groups (1-3, up to 6 if related or close friends) to assure plenty of one-on-one attention. Our hands-on cooking lessons are held in a home setting. No surcharge for single participants or private lessons. Discounts for children. Lessons available in English, Spanish or Italian.

We did the market tour which was very informative and interesting to see the foods that are available. We made gluten free pasta which we imagined would be difficult but Maribel's instructions made it achievable. We were really happy with how all our dishes turned out and are very excited to make it for our family and show off our... More

Bf and I took a pasta++ lesson with Maribel in November this year and we had a great time and learned a lot! The market tour was very educational. We got to choose which ingredients we wanted to use and she made them into recipes on the spot. Learned a lot about making pasta, had made it few times at... More

If you're serious about learning to cook, especially Gluten Free, don't even consider anyone other than Maribel! She is proud of her craft and clearly wants her students to LEARN. So if you're looking for one of those group/social cooking schools where everyone gets well lubricated on wine, this is not the place....NO wine until it's time to eat!...fine with... More

Thank you so much for your detailed review, Italy-nuts. Like I said in class, I am curious and need to understand how to best prepare something and why things behave a certain way. I try to relay as much information to my students --- and yes, I prefer to leave the wine for after we are done preparing our meal.... More

I did the Supreme Class - we toured the market and then went to Maribel's house to cook. We made pasta for tagliatelle and tortellini, ragu, ricotta stuffed squash blossoms, a fig/prosciutto antipasti, and a marscapone dessert. The food was all amazing. More importantly, I learned a lot during the class. There were only three of us in the class... More

This class was one of the highlights of our time in Bologna. We booked the Parmigiano Reggiano class with market tour. Maribel was great and gave an informative tour of the market. She was well prepared with several meal options and we adapted based on what was available fresh in the market. The cooking was simply fun. One of our... More

We had a wonderful time making two types of pasta, ragout and filling. Maribel was informative and insightful as she shared her passion and talent for cooking throughout our time with her. The proof was in the successful creation of an amazing lunch! Would highly recommend this experience for anyone who likes to create, cook and consume!

Maribel is fantastic: warm, lovely, easy to chat with. We spent a great morning having coffee and doing shopping in a local market she knows so well and she showed us around shops in Bologna where it's worth buying food and treats. Then we headed off to her place where serious business started. Some of the dishes we made with... More

Of the two weeks we recently spent in Italy, our day of cooking in Bologna with Maribel was one of the brightest spots. My college age daughter and I both love to cook, but had zero experience crafting pasta. A few nights before the class, we had savored a delicious tortelloni with sage and butter sauce at a favorite restaurant.... More
