Very extensive collection of religious art

COVID safety measures well respected with temperature check at the entrance and mask required during the visit. It was nice to walk in rooms built for royalty. The art was well displayed end the pieces were quite impressive. The exhibits develop over two very large floors. Must see: Giardino Pensile (Hanging garden).

Great palazzo to visit

This Palazzo was a joy to visit. The beauty and workmanship was superb. Well worth a visit. The study had such fine marquetry that it is worth the visit all by itself,

Wonderful

A magnificent palazzo. I particularly appreciate the private apartment of Federico (the “studiolo” is so famous that there is no need to say how impressive it is to see all those details rendered in wood). But pay attention to the little room on your left, before you enter the studio, and look at its ceilings and little pillars...
And the doors, especially the ones attributed to Botticelli.
Also, one of the 2 towers are now open, so you go up to the very top. Lovely!
Just these few things in themselves are worth the visit.

A must

Wonderful palace. It’s a good idea to read up ahead and pick where you want to go. Otherwise you could spend all day there! Which I did not wish to do but we did get our hands stamped so we could go out and then back in.

Interesting art gellery - well worth a visit
Aug 2019
A beautiful setting to display a wide range of artworks from stone carvings dating back more than 1000 years to stunning Renaissance masterpieces including work by Raphael who was born in Urbino.
The building is worth a visit by itself - easy to imagine the Dukes of Urbino gathering in its vast chambers to live and hold important meetings or celebrations. Take time to climb up the spiral staircase to the top of the tower where the 360 degree views are spectacular.

Palazzo Ducale

The Palace is a must, splendid, both inside and out. We had a guide which was a spectacular waste of money as she raced through the rooms with about 35(yes!) people struggling to understand her garbling. The guides are not official, so beware.

Superb Palazzo - well worth the visit

I really enjoyed the Palazzo Ducale. It holds some beautiful paintings with Raphael's La Muta and Piero della Francesca's Flagellation being the obvious highlights but many other lovely pieces as well.

Some of the rooms are really stunning, especially the Great Hall but also many of the smaller rooms which have especially lovely engraved doors and panelling.

Take your time to really appreciate the palace but try to avoid the very annoying tour guides who use a microphone and loud speaker for their groups.
