The Galleria Nazionale is located inside the Palazzo Ducale, an architectural masterpiece built by Luciano Lauren e Francesco di Giorgio Martini, two of the greatest Renaissance architects for Duke Federico da Montefeltro in the fifteenth century. The highlights of the collection are "La Muta", a beautiful portrait of a woman by Raffaello, two paintings by Piero della Francesca, and several... More

Part of the ticket for the Palazzo Ducale - the Galleria helps bring additional life to the enormous space of the Ducal Palace. Your may come to see the Raphael or the Piero della Francesca Flagellation of Christ - but up on the second floor there is also a fantastic collection of local faience pieces. The ceramic collection is on... More

While this collection includes works by Raffaello, Peiro Della Francesca, Bellini, Orazio Gentilleschi, ceramics, tapestries, etc.. I found myself gripped by the incredible inlaid wood decorations throughout the Palace. The height of this work was to be seen in the Duke's Apartments with The Studio

This is the "pay" section of the Palazzo Ducale. Unbelievable highlights lay within from the great masters - get a guide to explain it all to you. Also the Wood carved panels and doors very stunning.

When we last visited Urbino a couple of years ago, the palace was undergoing restoration and quite a lot of it was closed off. So it was a great pleasure this time to find it back to its beautiful best. While I can think of better Italian art collections than this one, its setting in these elegant and harmonious Renaissance... More

We made a long drive over the mountains specifically to see this world class art museum, and specifically the works of Piero Della Francesco. The prize piece, the Flagellation of Christ, is amazing in its construction, and it's challenge for interpretation. I get it. It's a masterpiece. For me the haunting eyes of the Christ child, in the Presentation, are... More

Loved this visit and in particular the works of Piero del Francesco. I expected more works by Rafaello but there were many other interestings works to see. Nice little coffeeshop in the beautiful courtyard.

A vast collection of religious works, Rafael's Mute and Nude that shocked the people of the time but admired by a pope. Tapestries, St George and the dragon and exquisite marquetry room

OK, I'm biased, I LOVE Piero del Francesco and Ucello. The gallery would still be worth it without the works of those two headliners.
